Everything doesn’t have to be black and white…

I cleaned and rearranged my closet last weekend to see if I had any colorful hidden gems because I found that my daily wardrobe consisted of either black or denim. Outside of a few printed scarfs and neon clutches my closet looked pretty *blah*. So of course I went where all of America goes when they need inspiration…the internet…lol. I found a few celebrities who added color to their outfits and I changed the colors to black or white just so I could see how color can change the whole look of your outfit. My Photoshop skills might be a little suspect but take a look…

color1

Cameron Diaz wore a white Oscar De la Renta dress when she received her star on the Walk of Fame. I like how she added her pop of color with the red belt and red shoes. It totally adds personality to dress and it matches her mood. So i changed the accessories to black. The lack and white is not bad but it’s not as exciting.

color2

Aubrey O’Day wore this cobalt blue Temperley London dress to the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” LA premiere and she definitely stood out on the red carpet. This is a great color for her and it brings out the color in her eyes. When I changed it to black, she just looked normal

color3

Blake Lively was one of my favorites at the CFDA Awards. This fuschia Michael Kors strapless dress looks amazing on her and I couldn’t imagine it being in any other color except maybe turquoise. So I tried it in white. Ok I know it looks a little silverish white but lets pretend :) . It doesn’t hold a candle to the fuschia.

color4

Jennifer Love Hewitt is such a girly girl and I love that about her. She was recently spotted going to a Bar Mitzvah in Encino wearing a brown dress. She added a baby blue hat that added a small pop of color but worked so well with her outfit. Here she is with the baby blue hat and if she had worn a hat that matched her dress.

color5

Elena Ballesteros attended the “Los Abrazos Rotos” premiere in Madrid, Spain in the simplest, yet hottest outfit. She wore a Chanel jacket with a white tee, leather legging and black heels. Her red clutch really brought out the outfit. I changed the clutch to gray (black was blending in too much with the leggings and background) and immediately noticed the muted change.

Even if you’rethe most neutral chick on the planet, don’t be afraid to add some color to your outfits. Try bold scarves, statement jewelry, bright colored shoes or eye catching purses. It will add add personality and originality to otherwise plain-jane outfits.

Diane Kruger wore a modified Jason Wu dress from his fall collection. I love the embroidered shoulders and I really like this dress in red. She added a clutch and black t-strap sandals.

cfda2

Molly Sims wore a Marilyn Monroe dress from the Fall Dolce & Gabbana 2009 collection. The dress is gorgeous but she’s missing the glamour.

cfda3

I love love love Kirsten Dunst’s shoes! I also love this Rodarte mini from the Fall 2009 collection but I don’t think I like them together.

cfda4

Blake Lively wore a fuschia strapless Michael Kors dress from his Fall 2009 collection. This is a very simple look but I love it. And the subtle detailing around the bust along with the pockets is very cute.

Blake Lively visits “Late Show With David Letterman”

blake-letterman

Blake Lively worked the heck out of the magenta Diane Von Furstenberg dress she wore when she visited David Letterman. The asymetrical cut is right on trend and the snakeskin Jimmy Choo pumps are perfect.

Rihanna wore a grecian style lilac dress from the Gucci Spring 2009 collection. Chanel Iman wore it on the runway but Rihanna looks a lot better in in it. The dress had a jeweled at the shoulder.

Mary J Blige wore a black dress with gold trim and black riding boots.

Blake Lively, who wore a plunging neckline the other night, chose the same style this time with this black and ivory Gucci Fall 2008 dress. The skirt on the dress is velvet with gold and black accents around the drop waist. It was all black on the runway but I definitely like this color combination better.

Madonna wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 green, feathered mini dress, with gladiator heels. I have not gotten into this feathered trim yet. Perhaps in time.

Im loving Coco Rocha’s gypsy vibe in Gucci Resort 2009.

Blake Lively took the plunge in this dress! She wore Vena Cava Fall 2007.

Maria Sharipova wore a brown dress with Jimmy Choo Glenys Elaphe Snakeskin Sandals.

Charlize wore a black Christian Dior Fall 2008 Couture dress with black studded strappy sandals.

Lindsay Price wore a purple asymmetrical Versace dress. Not really loving the fit of this dress.

Kerry Washington looks regal in Marchesa Resort 2009 dress. She’s one of my favorite stars on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lopez and this pout is hilarious but she’s working it out in her pink, one shouldered Versace dress. Her body looks great.

Ivanka Trump wore a long strapless navy blue dress.

Georgina Chapman is always gorgeous. She wore a feathered dress from her Marchesa fall 2008 collection. She could model her own designs because she is giving the younger models a run for their money.

Blake Lively is always cute on the red carpet and she keeps it up with this Chanel top ad pencil skirt and black pumps.

Kate Bosworth is stunning in her gold feathered dress from Burberry Prorsum Fall 2008 and the must have shoe of the season, the Burberry Prorsum Ruched platform pumps

Rachel Zoe has done a great job with Debra Messing. The leather straps at the top are unexpected but a nice surprise.on this Kaufman Franco gown.
