The Bare Skinny

Vanessa Hudgens told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that Georgina Chapman redesigned this Marchesa Spring 2009 dress just for her to wear to the Oscars. The dress was beautiful before with the rosette detail but I do adore the mermaid bottom on Vanessa.

Miley Cyrus wore the most beautiful dress from the Zuhair Murad Spring 2009 collection. The beaded tiers are exquisite.

Freida Pinto walked the red carpet wearing a blue John Galliano Spring 2009 gown. It was presented on the runway as a sheer overlay. Thankfully she added a layer underneath the gown.

Now this is the Anne Hathaway I love! She totally redeemed herself tonight wearing an Armani Prive Couture Spring 2009 gown. The shimmering wrapping effect on this strapless dress is divine.

Jennifer Aniston really stepped out of her comfort zone wearing a Valentino Spring 2009 Couture gown and it paid off. Her and boyfriend, John Mayer, skipped the red carpet but she presented an award with Jack Black looking amazing!

I don’t really like this Valentino Couture Spring 2009 gown on Amanda Seyfried. It looks as if it’s swallowing her.

Viola Davis looks stunning in this gold Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2009 halter gown. She cut out some of the jewels along the bodice but it definitely works.

Marion Cotillard chose a Christian Dior Couture dress from the Fall 2008 collection. I can’t say I like the gown but I do like her choice to make it strapless and more wearable.

Tilda Swinton wore a sand and black colored ensemble from the Lanvin Pre-Fall 2009. I’m not crazy about the fit but it’s definitely her style.

Leslie Mann really showed up in the redd carpet. She dazzled in a platinum Pamella Roland Fall 2009 gown. She’s one of the best dressed of the night.

Marisa Tomei stole the show in a pearl grey silk organza Atelier Versace gown. The movement in the collection pic is breathtaking.

Claire Danes wore a two toned dress with a bustier from the Lanvin Spring 2009 collection. She looks great until you get down to the shoes.

Jessica Alba wore a lilac Christian Dior Spring 2009 dress with nude Christian Louboutin Mary Janes. Gorgeous.

I like how Lucy Liu added shape to her fuschia Lanvin Spring 2009 dress with a clear belt. She added nude sandals and I totally love it.

Michelle Monaghan wore an ice blue belted Versace dress with strappy sandals.

Zooey Deschanel looks cute in her Lela Rose Spring 2009 shimmering blue dress. The belt with the bow throws me off a little but she’s still cute.

Mena Suvari wore a multi printed maxi dress from the Diana von Furstenberg Spring 2009 line.

Rose Byrne copied the entire look from the Calvin Klein Spring 2009 collection but she cut the sleeves and it works. She definitely looks chic.

Teri hatcher wore a cute LBD from the Marchesa fall 2009 collection. She’s the first I’ve seen at a major event in Fall 2009. I actually like the way it was modified without the embellishments.

Kerry Washington decided on an electric blue dress by Marchesa. The embellishments were extended to the sleeves. I don’t know why everyone is wearing drab black shoes.

Anne Hathaway looks as if she’s 42. I think Rachel Zoe ha given up on her or something because she has been very *blah* lately. This Rodarte Spring 2006 dress does nothing for her.

The stars of “Bride Wars”, Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, dressed down for the Berlin photocall. Kate still looks cute in a black ruffled shirt and a high waisted leather skirt from the Temperley London fall 2008 collection. Anne on the other hand…..

…just gave up.

Anne Hathaway wore a tweed dress with fringe along the neck and bodice from the Chanel Couture Fall 2008 collection. There was also layers of fringe along the skirt and she wore the belt from the runway. I don’ really like the way the dress draws your eyes to her hips.

Anne Hathaway wore a deep royal blue Armani Prive Fall 2006 strapless gown embroidered with Swarovski crystals. The “Rachel Getting Married” actress wore minimal jewelry and pulled her back which made for a very classy look. Hats off to her stylist Rachel Zoe.

Angelina Jolie looked exquisite on the red carpet in her white free flowing Max Azaria Spring 2009 gown. She and Brad walked the red carpet together and they compliment each other so well! She kept her face fresh and I’m loving the whole look all the way down to the Stuart Weitzman peep toes.

Amy Adams really stands out in this blue Oscar De La Renta Pre-Fall 2009 strapless dress. The blue is simply divine and the Christian Louboutins are perfect.

Evan Rachel Wood wore a gold sequined dress with matching shoes.

Amanda Bynes wore a pink Herve Leger dress which has been seen on the red carpet a million times but she actually wears it well.

This Monique Lhuillier Spring 2009 teal dress is kind of safe for Eva Longoria but I like it. The jewel encrusted neckline and midriff are eye catching. She added nude Christian Louboutin pumps.

Katy Perry wore a seafoam green ensemble. She pulls off the look but it’s not my cup of tea.

Kate Beckinsale is really rockin this J Mendel Pre Fall gown in burgundy. It’s a different color from the runway version and longer but she definitely made it her own. She never disappoints.

Marisa Tomei went all the way back to Giambattista Valli’s Fall 2006 collection for this dress.

As I stated before, Angela Bassett is always stunning.

Hot Hot Hot! Anne Hathaway is working this black and white Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2009 dress. Rachel Zoe is doing a fantastic job picking out her dresses. The jeweled belt brings this entire look together.

Dakota Fanning looks cute as usual.

Penelope Cruz looks ok in this Yves Saint Laurent dress. Very safe.

Kristin Bell made a mess of this Stella McCartney Spring 2009. I can’t get past the wrinkles.

Taraji P. Henson has realy improved on the red carpet. She exudes a lot of confidence in this metallic ensemble.

Elizabeth Banks ruined the Reem Acra Fall 2007 gold dress with the pink lipstick.

Anne Hathaway looked amazing at the Palm Springs Film Festival Gala last night wearing a black Balmain Spring 2009 strapless dress. It was embellished with jewels around the middle and had a crisscross effect around the skirt. She also wore black furry Altadama astrakhan platforms by Christian Louboutin which you can buy at net-a-porter.com for $995. I love the way she looks here. Below is the picture from the runway:

Gwyneth Paltrow made an appearance at the London Film Festival to promote her movie Two Lovers, wearing a furry Felder Felder jacket with leather sleeves. I don’t know why she hid her Salvatore Ferragamo dress because by itself it is gorgeous. She also nixed the heels and wore sandals by Charlotte Olympia for Temperley.

Anne Hathaway was also there wearing a strapless Zac Posen column gown promoting her new film, Rachel Getting Married.
