The Evolution of the American Apparel Ruched Bodysuit
My friends from my “Weekly Shopping and Goodies” exchange decided this week we would pick one item and create an outfit out of it. We started with the American Apparel ruched Bodysuit and I picked the mint green color. Come back tomorrow to see everyone’s interpretation of this item.
This is my end result but keep reading to see where I started.
Here is the evolution of my bodysuit….
I am very laid back and casual, only getting dressy when I need to but I still like to be fabulous. I picked the mint green color of the American Apparel Strapless Ruched Bodysuit which you can purchase for $26 from americanapparel.com. I don’t like to have too many competing colors so I knew that this would be my standout piece.
I decided to go for a low-key vibe but trendy so I added the hottest trend of the season, The Boyfriend Jean! Of course I picked the leader which is Current Elliott. These are actually called Current Elliott Long Boyfriend Jean in Treasured Destroy and you can buy these from singer22.com for $245
I wanted to keep the outfit laid back but I needed to put something around the neck. I opted for a simple Wrap Chain Link Necklace from Target for $26.99. The necklace is gold with green accents which plays off the bodysuit well.
Brown is a color you can wear with everything without having to make a major contrast so I chose Cynthia Vincent Dinah Sandals which you can purchase at piperlime.com for $200 and the Botkier James Tote, available at zappos.com for $654.

I like the casual vibe of this outfit, although I’d probably pair it with skinnies rather than bf jeans since I think they make me look short
