Eco Friendly and Fabulous…Fashion Goes Green
With the world becoming eco-friendly it was only a matter of time for the fashion industry to follow suit. Designers are doing their part to help the environment, by using recycled materials, pesticide free cotton, organic and sustainable fibers. Here is a spotlight on a few designers:
LINDA LOUDERMILK

Linda Loudermilk, the first designer to create a luxury+eco lifestyle brand has been coined the Vivienne “Westwood of eco” by Elle Magazine. Six years ago Linda began researching products that are sustainable and seeking out companies that create fibers without pesticides or other toxic processes. That sparked her creation of clothing made with fabrics of sasawashi, bamboo, sea cell, soya and other exotic self-sustaining plants. She proudly boasts the message: eco can be edgy, loud, fun, playful, feminine (or not) and hyper-cool. Visit lindaloudermilk.com

NATALIE PORTMAN

Natalie Portman, a vegetarian since age 8, noticed the conspicuous lack of animal-friendly footwear in the luxury designer marketplace. Té Casan, well-versed in recognizing and developing new talent, collaborated with Portman for her 100% vegan collection.
Beyond just lending her name to the collection, Portman worked closely with Té Casan throughout the entire development process to maintain consistent quality with an exceptional design aesthetic. Dazzling, playful and elegant, each shoe exudes the star’s own personal style – all with social consciousness. To that end Portman will donate 100% of her proceeds to various non-profit organizations dedicated to environmental preservation and animal rights.

GAP
Gap is now offering the new low rise organic boot cut jeans. Sustainable and stylish, it’s the updated original boot cut silhouette with the same flattering features just more sexy.
